As Program Manager you will be working with an international team of global sustainability and purchasing experts to ensure the implementation of supplier carbon emission accounting and to drive CO2 reductions according to Knorr Bremse’s ambition aligned with the SBTI (Science Based Targets Initiative).
MAIN TASKS:
Leading and developing the Supply Chain CO2 Accounting and Decarbonization program in Knorr-Bremse Purchasing for both divisions, Rail and Truck – related to Scope 3.1 (purchased goods and services)
Set up and drive a dedicated cross-divisional project team and ensure efficient collaboration with key stakeholders in the divisional Purchasing departments and Corporate Responsibility department.
Driving the establishment and implementation of a comprehensive Climate Strategy with a focus on decarbonization within our supply chain
Ensure and continuously drive building up the required expertise and database together with the carbon accounting team and provide relevant knowledge to the organization.
Establish and continuously develop an adequate reporting system for supply chain decarbonization with effective tracking of defined measures
Collaboration with other Scope 3 workstreams and relevant initiatives
Representation of Knorr-Bremse in selected industry initiative working groups focusing on supply chain decarbonization
Preparation and execution of relevant trainings concerning supply chain decarbonization
REQUIREMENTS:
Several years of professional experience in a similar position in a multinational company culture
Relevant academic education
Understanding of Greenhouse Gas Protocol standards, corporate greenhouse gas accounting and Scope 3 decarbonization levers and strategies.
Science- and data-driven mindset, sense of responsibility and willingness to take initiative
Working experience in Purchasing, Supplier Management or KPI-controlling is an advantage
Enthusiastic about climate protection challenges and motivated to drive change at scale with the ability to influence and inspire others
Creativity & Innovation
Good communication skills with internal and external stakeholders in English (German and Hungarian is an advantage).
Microsoft tools, ERP systems knowledge is an advantage
Willingness to travel (up to 10% of work-time).
