Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

Within delegated authority, the Senior Data Analyst Associate will be responsible for the following duties:

Clean, pre-process, and validate data collected from various sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability for analysis.
Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation, reporting and information sharing.
Independently offer full range of data analysis assistance concerning a large and complex component of the payroll funding data analysis initiatives, seeking guidance only in exceptional circumstances.
Serve as a focal point for coordination, monitoring and expedition of data analysis activity.
Contribute to knowledge management efforts by documenting best practices, lessons learned, and success stories derived from data analysis.
Draft communications related to all aspects of data analysis, including information on available data sets, data catalogs and data analysis, revisions and other related issues, as well as preparing a variety of periodic reports.
Collaborate with counterparts in arranging Payroll and Offboarding related information from ERP and other systems, obtain requisite clearances, ensure establishment of proper monitoring systems through scheduled reporting and review meetings.
Participate in identifying information needs and presenting functional designs about relevant information collection systems for supporting the section needs.
Conduct quantitative data analysis to assess performance, track indicators, and measure outcomes.
Help to set-up and monitor KPIs and productivity information and provide assistance to leadership team in providing information to counterparts.
Provide technical support and capacity building to staff on data analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Completion of secondary education (i.e., high school diploma) is a minimum requirement.
University level courses in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Research, Data Science or other relevant fields are desirable.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant work in data science, data analytics, applied mathematics, information management, data analytics, or related area is required for candidates without university degree.
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis is required for candidates holding bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Research, Data Science or another relevant fields. A relevant master’s degree may replace an additional two years.
Extensive knowledge of PowerBI, advanced Excel and PowerPoint is required.
Solid knowledge of HR and Payroll systems, including SAP is desired.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions are required.
Proven initiative, proactivity and ability to work independently are required.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical information in a clear and actionable manner are required.
Work experience with a development organization is an asset.
Knowledge of UN/UNICEF’S rules, regulations and procedures is an asset.
Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders in a development or humanitarian context is an asset.
Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is a strong asset.
