NIX, a global supplier of software engineering and IT outsourcing services, is looking for a Junior General QA Engineer in its office in Budapest (Vaci Greens, 13th district). You’ll be part of a team of professionals who are ready to find the best tailor-made IT solutions for their multinational clients in various industries and solve complex problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases and check lists for web, mobile, and backend applications.
- Perform manual testing to validate functionality and usability of features across platforms.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, etc.).
- Identify, document, and track bugs and inconsistencies using a defect tracking system (e.g., Jira).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and ensure quality coverage.
- Conduct regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory testing as part of the release cycle.
- Continuously improve test coverage and automation pipelines, integrating tests into CI/CD workflows.
- Analyze test results and report quality metrics to stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to QA process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with QA standards and best practices across all stages of development.
- Proactively identify risks and propose mitigation strategies early in the development process.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
- Strong knowledge of QA theory and practices.
- Theoretical understanding of Agile methodology and software development principles.
- Basic knowledge of any programming language (Java / Python / JS / C# / Groovy).
- Understanding of client-server architecture.
- Good English skills, upper-intermediate or higher.
- Flexible analytical and algorithmic thinking, desire for self-development, persistence in finding solutions, and achieving goals.
WILL BE A PLUS:
- Knowledge of testing frameworks, such as Selenium WebDriver or Appium.
- Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman.
- Understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git or SVN.
