This month, various campaigns around the world are raising awareness among women about the disease, the importance of mammography screening, and prevention. In Hungary, nearly 8,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed every year. Since breast cancer detected at an early stage has a good chance of being successfully treated, prevention and early detection play a crucial role.

Since 2018, Szent Margit Hospital has joined the breast cancer awareness campaign every year. During “Pink October,” communication focuses on the importance of screening, while hospital staff wear the campaign’s symbol – the pink ribbon.

The international initiative aims to emphasize the importance of prevention and screening, ensuring that those affected can receive appropriate and professional medical care.
