LEAD AUDITOR
The purpose of the position:
As a Lead Internal Auditor, you will head audit assignments across MOL Group companies, evaluating business processes and supporting improvements through risk-based and business-focused assessments. You will act as a team leader, coordinating a group of auditors while also functioning as a key advisor to internal partners. Your insights will help shape risk management practices, enhance control environments, and strengthen corporate governance.
Main responsibilities and tasks:
- Responsible for overseeing audit teams throughout the execution of complex audit assignments.
- Coordinate audit planning, execution, and reporting in line with Internal Audit methodology and IIA standards.
- Supervise and support the team during risk assessments, control evaluations, and audit documentation.
- Define actionable and business-relevant recommendations to address identified issues.
- Finalize audit findings and present them to key stakeholders across MOL Group.
- Monitor the implementation of recommendations and contribute to the development of risk management awareness.
- Provide ad hoc consultancy and support to internal partners and management.
- Work closely with international audit colleagues and various business areas across the Group.
Skills and competencies we are looking for:
Technical skills:
- In-depth knowledge of IIA standards and the Code of Ethics.
- Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, accounting principles, and IFRS.
- Experience in process analysis and organizational development.
- Familiarity with risk management practices and governance structures.
Leadership & soft skills:
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate audit teams (1–5 FTEs).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Clear and confident communication – both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and risk awareness.
- Open-minded and strategic thinker with the ability to see both the big picture and operational details.
Requirements:
- University or college degree in a relevant field.
- Min. 4-5 years of professional audit experience (Big 4 background is an advantage).
- Certified Internal Auditor or similar qualification is a plus.
- Fluent English and Hungarian (written and verbal).
- Willingness to travel occasionally within the MOL Group countries.
