Electronic Manufacturing Service Engineer at Maersk Container Industry (MCI)

Standszám:

At Maersk Container Industry, we are looking for an experienced Electronics Manufacturing Engineer to take ownership of the technical collaboration with our EMS partners. In this role, you will act as a key link between MCI and external suppliers, ensuring stable production, robust test setups, and well-controlled changes across our electronics manufacturing landscape.

While the role has a strong technical foundation, success is equally about coordination, early risk identification, and the ability to challenge solutions constructively – always with quality, reliability, and long-term performance in mind.

MCI is located in Tinglev in the Southern part of Denmark, close to Sønderborg, Kolding, and Flensburg. We have strong local roots but act on a truly global stage. At MCI in Tinglev, you will enjoy an informal and supportive atmosphere. We work with the most energy efficient reefer technology and are aware of our contribution to global trade. We always make sure that we have fun and enjoy working with each other.

In your everyday work, you will experience a high degree of independence in a flexible work environment where innovation and quality have very high priority. You will be part of an international company of passionate colleagues who come from different backgrounds and cultures. Furthermore, we have a very good package of employee benefits.

As our Electronic Manufacturing Service Engineer, you will serve as the technical point of contact between MCI and our EMS partners. You will work proactively to identify risks early, ensure alignment on changes, and support robust manufacturing solutions — while also stepping in to resolve issues when needed.

You work closely with management and provide the technical foundation needed to take decisive action when production or quality is at risk. Furthermore, you have access to a skilled R&D Team with solid expertise in electronics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of test equipment at EMS (hardware and software), ensuring stable and capable test setups
  • Managing and driving change control processes for components, test systems, and product updates, with strong focus on impact and risk
  • Coordinating design and production-related changes with Procurement, R&D, Quality, and Logistics
  • Conducting regular inspections and audits at EMS partners to identify improvement opportunities and prevent quality issues
  • Supporting and monitoring production performance such as yield rates and test cycle times in close cooperation with Quality
  • Analyzing production issues, defining corrective actions, and ensuring structured follow-up with suppliers

The role includes approximately 60 travel days per year for on-site support and collaboration with EMS partners.

We are looking for an experienced and structured engineer who is comfortable working in a supplier-facing role with real responsibility. You bring a strong background in electronics manufacturing and testing, and you understand that stable production is achieved through alignment, early involvement, and constructive challenge — not only technical fixes.

To succeed in this role, you likely bring:

  • B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 5–8 years (preferably more) of experience in electronics manufacturing, testing, or industrialization
  • Experience working with or towards external manufacturing partners or suppliers
  • Proficiency in LabView and other relevant engineering tools
  • Solid understanding of production processes, quality standards, and change control
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and independent working style
  • Fluency in English; Danish is a plus but not a requirement

As this is a newly established position at MCI, it is important that you bring experience from a similar role where you have worked close to manufacturing or EMS suppliers and taken responsibility for technical alignment, quality, or change management.

You are motivated by collaboration and not afraid to challenge solutions in a constructive and professional manner. You can keep the overview across multiple tasks while knowing when to dive into technical details and when to move issues forward.

This role is likely a good match for you if you:

  • Enjoy working at the interface between engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers
  • Prefer preventing issues through structure and early involvement rather than only reacting
  • Are comfortable challenging suppliers and solutions constructively
  • Take ownership and follow issues through to resolution

MCI is located at its headquarters in Tinglev, where this position is based.
