The Role: 
The rapidly emerging fintech sector presents a world of cyber security opportunities and challenges. At GSCF we are currently transforming our systems to the cloud, and you will be on the front lines securing new applications and platforms. Protecting sensitive financial data and transactions across international borders requires staying ahead of sophisticated cyber threats and compliance regulations. As the Cloud & Data Security Senior Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our organization’s data residing in cloud platforms and applications. This role will play a crucial role in maintaining cloud security architecture, designing and implementing cloud security infrastructure and tooling, providing technical security assurance for internal projects and cloud transformation initiatives. The position also involves ensuring data security throughout its lifecycle and enforcing strong security practices across Office IT and Cloud domains. 

 
How You Will Make an Impact: 

  • Lead the development and implementation of security strategies and solutions for our data and cloud platforms, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. 
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to prioritize security features and enhancements for the cloud platforms. 
  • Provide technical security guidance to the technology teams and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate security into all aspects of the data and cloud platforms. 
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in data security, encryption, access control, and compliance across the organization. 
  • Develop and implement data security policies and procedures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. 
  • Review security documentation, concept designs, HLDs & LLDs, recommend adjustments from cyber security point of view to eliminate potential cyber risks at a very early stages 
  • Assess architect diagrams and network communication involving multiple cloud providers, make recommendations to lower the risk of data loss or unauthorized access. 
  • Evaluate authentication, authorization controls, permission matrices and approval flows to maintain the least privileged principle and eliminate the conflict of interests. 
  • Design and implement security controls for data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions to mitigate risks and prevent unauthorized access or data breaches. 
  • Evaluate and recommend security technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the security posture of the data and cloud platforms. 
  • Conduct security assessments, audits, and penetration testing of the data and cloud platforms to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses, and recommend remediation measures. 
  • Stay updated on emerging threats and vulnerabilities in data management, analytics, and machine learning technologies, and assess their potential impact on security. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to respond to security incidents, conduct forensic investigations, and implement incident response plans. 
  • Champion a culture of security awareness and compliance within the organization, providing training and education on data and cloud platforms security best practices. 
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with data and cloud security policies, regulations, and industry standards, such as GDPR, DORA, NIS2, SOX, ISO27001. 

What You Bring to the Team: 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • At least 5 years of experience in cloud and/or data security 
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS platforms and security tooling
