Intelligent autonomous networked systems researcher

NOKIA

Standszám:

B35

The Intelligent autonomous networked systems researcher will conduct research in advanced system concepts and methodologies applicable for managing and operating 6G and beyond communication systems.

In general, a Research Scientist conducts research projects investigating fundamental scientific and conceptual problems with the goal of breaking new ground which could lead to new inventions, new or enhanced products, or new business or market opportunities by disruptive and innovative solutions. Creates a substantial competitive advantage by generating company intellectual property.

With the worldwide rollout of 5G and the advent of 6G systems networking industry faces the challenge of ever-increasing complexity and heterogeneity of networked systems in all technology domains. For efficiently and flexibly deploying, managing, maintaining, observing and operating these systems, the industry should move on from domain specific closed, rigid management platforms towards a flexible, distributed, extensible and autonomous network operations system.

Your role in this position will be to research, develop, model and demonstrate architectures of model based, mathematically backed up and implementable proposals that disrupt current solutions in progressing towards autonomously running software and network systems. You will have to design and validate system concept that is distributed, secure, highly flexible, scalable, easy to integrate and operate; You should research algorithms for achieving these properties; You also define metrics to verify these properties. For achieving this You will have to apply advanced mathematical modeling and optimization methods (such as those listed below in the requirements); conduct analysis, simulations and implement proof-of-concept demonstrations.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Your work will be part of larger initiatives within Network Systems and Security Research laboratory, with a wide network of internal and external colleagues, contributing to multi-stakeholder projects.
You will have to exert a highly innovative, proactive and initiative working attitude in defining the concrete research goals, executing tasks and disseminating results to internal and external audiences.
You will interact and collaborate with Nokia business groups and with other research groups within Nokia
You will have to contribute to Nokia IPR creation
It is required to contribute to international publications, whitepapers and wider ecosystem engagements.

Qualifications
You are an ideal candidate if

You have PhD degree or You are a PhD candidate in computer science, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, telecommunications, or similar fields; or You have MSc degree in any of these fields with minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
You have solid knowledge and experience with network architectures and technologies (such as 5G networks, IP networks, various access technologies); networking protocols; network orchestration and service management; relevant standards (from 3GPP, IETF, ETSI, TMF).
Having practical experience with open-source network simulators, emulators or network function implementations is a plus
You are familiar with network management principles (FCAPS), performance analysis, system dimensioning, orchestration, assurance
You are interested in and have knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence; You have solid background in some of the relevant mathematics and engineering fields, e.g. control theory, systems theory, algorithms, graph theory, optimization methods, data science.
Having experience and background in system security and/or quantum communications is an advantage.
You are based in Hungary and You meet all employment conditions in Hungary
