NIX, a global supplier of software engineering and IT outsourcing services, is looking for a Scala Data Specialist (Medior/Senior) in its office in Budapest (Vaci Greens, 13th district). You’ll be part of a team of professionals who are ready to find the best tailor-made IT solutions for their multinational clients in various industries and solve complex problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain scalable applications using Scala and Java to support data collection, processing and analysis.
Handle data storage solutions using MongoDB and Snowflake for efficient data management.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (product, data science, analysts) to define, design, and ship new features that enhance our data capabilities.
Develop and deliver reports tailored to the needs of different user groups within the platform (e.g., students, instructors, administrators).
Contribute to maintaining code quality and code organization.
Design, implement, and manage AWS services to build and maintain a robust data warehouse infrastructure.
Utilize Apache Spark for large-scale data processing and analytics.
dentify and resolve performance bottlenecks, fix bugs and ensure high-quality data pipelines.
Work within an Agile methodology, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups and code reviews.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
English level B2+.
Proven experience in Scala and Java development.
Proficient in working with MongoDB and Snowflake databases.
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Proactiveness in seeking and implementing better approaches and solutions to optimize data processing, storage, and analysis.
Years of commercial experience 3+.
Strong expertise in AWS, with practical experience in deploying and managing services.
Extensive experience with Apache Spark for data processing.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

WILL BE A PLUS:
Previous experience in LMS or educational technology projects.
Knowledge of software development best practices and methodologies.
Familiarity with other data processing and analytics tools.
